What are the best kind of hair extensions?

Here's the story: I was diagnosed with brain cancer and so in late August/early September I had surgery to my head and a good 1/4th of my hair was shaved. To make matters worse the radiation treatments i received in the Fall caused me to lose another huge section of hair around my head. I still have alot of hair left so I just wear hats or bandanas to hide what I lost, however, I am a junior in highschool and prom is coming up soon as well as a family cruise and I am becoming interested in hair extensions for both of those events. I don't want to harm any hair growth though, so I was wondering, regardless of cost, what are the best possible types of hair extensions that won't harm growing hair and will last a long period of time?

Hopefully someone can help =/. Thanks! =]

What are the best kind of hair extensions?

What are the best kind of hair extensions?

Jessica Simpson has a great line of hair extensions that clip onto the hair on the back of your head. The colors match perfectly and they stay in place very well. i just wore one to a school dance because i have very thin hair. i am wearing it in my avatar if you can see, it looks real. they are only about $95, which is good for hair extensions!

How do I get my hair to have the "surfer" look?

My hair is currently about 5-5.5 inches long. Well my problem is that I have straight hair. Too straight where I can't accomplish the look. My hair just lays flat with no volume at all. I have tried hairspray, gel, and palmade after towel drying. But noting gets it to do the "curl out" on the bottom.

My hair is so straight that I could grow it 6 feet long and there would not be any waves or curls.

The closest that I come to the "surfer" look is when I towel dry it and it's still damp. But when my hair completely dries, it straightens out and I lose it.

What products would you recommend to make it look cool. And would I need to use a hairdryer? I don't mind if I do?

Please help.

How do I get my hair to have the "surfer" look?

you can try messing your hair up

like

REALLY messing your hair up

flinging it around

rubbing your hands all over it

just like yeah

cuz surfers kinda have that messy look too

and you can try blow drying it

How do I get my hair to have the "surfer" look?

Well to get a surfer look you should try a volumnizing shampoo, also there is this spray called bumble and bumble you should give that a try, hope this helped.

How do I get my hair to have the "surfer" look?

Bed head manipulator.

Just run it through your hair %26amp; it'll stay the way you shape it.

It's like gooey wax stuff.

But when you put it in your hair you get that look if you do it right.

%26amp; flip your hair %26amp; stuff.

It ads umph.

Hair loss after giving birth?

I had a baby 3 months ago and my hair has been failing out like crazy. I was taking my prenatals but I stopped because they make me hungry and I've gained back some of the weight that I lost. Can someone recommend some vitamins or something that I can do to stop the hair loss and make my hair strong and healthy again?

To give you more detailed about my hair type, Im african american and my hair is relaxed...I need treatments suitable for my hair type...

Hair loss after giving birth?

There are many reasons u might be having hair loss.

Are you or have you any of the following:

Change of Diet - resulting in lack proper nutrients

Stress/Baby Blues - the stress hormones are unbalanced and your body can release insufficient chemicals to maintain stability. Therefore, causing u 2 change the way u act or eat, sleep, etc.

ALSO, your body is so use to the prenatal vitamins for the upkeep of your body and your baby's health while your were prego. When you suddenly stopping supplying that nutrient after 9 months, it threw it off track. Try to substitute with another kind of vitamin. Try a Centrum for Women or something that is rich in calcium and beta carotene.

Hair loss after giving birth?

I got to thinking that all this dry cold weather was another option for your hair to get dryed out and brittle. When you brush it, the hair is so dry it breaks eaiser and it may appear that it is thining.

Thanx for the points. I'm a mother of a 2 %26amp; 3 year old. Report It

Hair loss after giving birth?

take some iron tablets, dates

Hair loss after giving birth?

For a lot of women this is normal, even more so for women of our culture who have relaxers. 1st off, stop getting the relaxers for a while. Your hair needs a good hot oil treatment and you either need to consider braids or a natural hairdo until you hair finds its strength again.

Hair loss after giving birth?

My wife lost too much hair after our baby was born. That eventually went away, patience.

Hair loss after giving birth?

im sorry i cannot help you but do you really think your losing your hair because you had a child?? because im pregnant oh u know what it might have been from a change in your hormons!!

Hair loss after giving birth?

My sister and I had that problem, too. My doctor said that is was normal b/c your body is trying to restraiten out your hormones. It eventually stopped falling out and is back to it's prepregnant, thick state! My son is now 10 months old.

Hair loss after giving birth?

This happens to a lot of woman after thy give birth,It is due to the change in hormones after the birth and it should rectify by its self,If not talk to your health visitor

Hair loss after giving birth?

This normal for post pregnancy. It will stop soon. To keep it healthy and growing however, go to HSN.com and order the Andrew Lessman's Healthy Hair Skin and Nails supplements. They really work. Read all the testimonials!

Hair loss after giving birth?

Hormonal changes can do that to you at anytime, but it is common for some hair loss to occur after giving birth. My advice is to check with your doctor though. Not only will you be able to get some answers, but if nothing else, it'll make you feel better.

Hugs and btw, congratulations on the birth of your child!

Hair loss after giving birth?

The bad news is, is that no matter what you do your hair will fall out like crazy after you have a had a baby. The reason for this is that normally your hair goes through a process of growing and falling out, a few hairs a day. However, while you are pregnant the cycle stops and you do not lose any hair for 9 months, so their is a lot of catching up to do. The good news is that after about 4-6 months your hormones, which have dropped considerably, will normalize and your hair will go back to it's normally pre-pregnancy cycle. You will also find that you have a lot of new hair growth all at once as well which will take a while to fully grow out. As for your hunger, if you are breast feeding keep in mind that it is normal for you to be hungry as you need extra calories to produce milk. It takes a while for everything to go back to normal after having a baby give yourself another month or so and you should notice a decrease in your appetite. Make sure you take some sort of vitamin supplement, especially if you are nursing. Nature's Choice makes a good one. As for hair treatments, try Ojon, you can get it at Sephora. It works amazingly well on dry or damaged hair and has an incredible date palm oil smell.

Hair loss after giving birth?

I haven't just had a baby but I did lose my hair twice back to back called myself getting a perm at the age of 36 so I do feel you I first started out using aphogee it's been working and I'm keeping it braided for a while this is my first perm but I also dyed my hair 3yrs ago and went through the same thing my hair was everything to me right under my 3 sons I guess I praised it a lil to much plus I went behind my beauticians back she%26amp; the world told me not to get it and I didn't listen. Hope ur hair grows back keep the faith I know the both of ours will!

Hair loss after giving birth?

It's completely normal to lose some hair after giving birth. It'll eventually slow down. I started taking the vitamin MSM and it help with so many things especially if your breastfeeding. I'm sure it is to do with hormones - apparently alcohol and a diet more than 20% fat increase hormones such as testosterone and estrogen or progesterone, while being pregnant raises the other of estrogen and progesterone - I'm not sure which of these might be responsible or even something else but I'm almost certain it's all linked. I've heard that hair loss can be caused by your hair follicles response to testosterone. Hope this helps in some way

Hair loss after giving birth?

Whatever you do, do not do braids at this time because your hair is weak and the pulling will make you lose more hair. Best course of treatment is to use Motions(yellow %26amp; purple products) Critical Protection Repair. Some call it CPR. Use the shampoo %26amp; conditioner. The product gurantees to stop breaking hair after the first use. From experience I know it works. Use regularly because it coats your hair.

I have bumps on my legs by using hair removal lotion, how do i lose them?

i have horrible red bumps on my legs its like a bug bit, some of them had turned brown dots , they are now scars! plz help me

I have bumps on my legs by using hair removal lotion, how do i lose them?

Go to the doctors' because those are effects of meaning you're allergic to the hair removal lotion. Those are hives. I suggest that you go to the doctors' for a special ointment. Never use the hair removal lotion because it will always do bad, don't use chemicals to try to remove hair, don't shave either, it'll only get longer. You'll have to wait it out, it'll go away when you become an adult.

I have bumps on my legs by using hair removal lotion, how do i lose them?

I had those too. Wait until you grow more hair. Then wait a while more then you usually do!

I have bumps on my legs by using hair removal lotion, how do i lose them?

it's just wear the lotion has irritated your skin. thats happend to me before. put some hydrocortizone on it and it will go away in about a day.

Hope this Helps!

I have bumps on my legs by using hair removal lotion, how do i lose them?

Well first of all go see a doctor because your skin is probably allergic to the lotion.

I have bumps on my legs by using hair removal lotion, how do i lose them?

That hair removal lotion is soooo toxic and harsh. It happens to most of us. My doc once told me, it was under investigation for being a cancer causing agent, I havent touched it since.

I have bumps on my legs by using hair removal lotion, how do i lose them?

its most likely an ingrown hair, the lotion is disolving the hair below the skin. the pore starts to heal ovr as the hair trys to grow back out of it causing irritation brown dot with red bump. it may be better for u to wax ur leg instead of using the lotion. very painful but lasts longer

I have bumps on my legs by using hair removal lotion, how do i lose them?

More than likely you are allergic to it. Or you left the lotion on too long before you removed it. Buy some benadryl lotion in the medicine section at the store and rub it on.

Try some other hair removal method, which may be more suitable.

I'm 19 years old and I have lost a lot of my hair in the past two years.I take advil, may this

You may possibly have alopecia, a disease that causes people to loose their hair. It can happen at any age. You should see a doctor.

I'm 19 years old and I have lost a lot of my hair in the past two years.I take advil, may this be the cause?

I am sorry to hear that. It depends on a lot of things. did your parents loose hair at a young age? Are you under medical treatment right now?

Once I was loosing hair by the clumps in the shower. I was crying and couldnt believe it. at the time I was only 28. I couldnt figure it out. I had thick, long beautiful hair. One day I was searching for an answer. Recently a couple months before, I had started a new diet. I had cut all the sugar out of my eating habits and used artifical sweetener in my coffee and also started drinking diet soda. I was loosing weight rapidly (30 LB). I then found out the sweetener that I chose was the culprit, sweet n low. I read a website with a few people who had the same issue. I switched and my hair started growing back in again

I'm 19 years old and I have lost a lot of my hair in the past two years.I take advil, may this be the cause?

My guess would be it is not from the Advil. Advil is not good for you and should not be taken excessively, it can cause other health problems. It could be stress, your diet or hereditary.

Can someone provide instructions/advice on how to get relaxed African-American hair into this style?

I'm growing my hair out, and I was wondering how exactly to create a style like this on my relaxed, African-American hair. I'm really lost when it comes to curls/waves, because up to now I've only worn my hair straight. Hot rollers, curling irons, scrunching, diffusing, curling products, I'm clueless. I would really appreciate some instructions, advice, or product recommendations. Thanks so much!

the style: http://cdn-channels.netscape.com/gallery...

Can someone provide instructions/advice on how to get relaxed African-American hair into this style?

This style isn't that difficult. I wear it everyday without the bangs and I have relaxed, African-American hair too. Here's how I get it without a curling iron, scrunching, diffusing or curling products.

1. I wash my hair once every two weeks. I use Garnier Fructis (everyone thinks it's for white ppl, but it's not) shampoo and conditioner or Hair Mayonaisse with regular shampoo.

2. I blow-dry my hair straight. I don't use any heat protectants because they weigh my hair down.

3. I flat-iron it with my Maxiglide by Maxius flat-iron using the tooth attachment.

4. I apply a lightweight oil moisturizer from root to tip. No greases, waxes or pomades necessary.

5. Then, I separate my hair into 7 or 8 vertical sections from crown to nape. Then, I roll each section around two fingers until it reaches the roots and secure it with bobby pins.

6. Then, I go to sleep and take the pins out in the morning and shake my head. Run your fingers through your hair. It feels great!

I sleep with those pin curls in my hair every night and shake them loose in the morning. The pin curls give you day long curl without a curling iron. Resist heat to keep your hair growing and undamaged.

Email me if you need anything else.

Can someone provide instructions/advice on how to get relaxed African-American hair into this style?

get a really big barrel curling iron, a little bigger than a silver dollar. it usually works on my relaxed hair

Can someone provide instructions/advice on how to get relaxed African-American hair into this style?

hot rollers would be the best way only roll the hair half way up so the curl is at the bottom use big sections of hair hope this helped from a cosmetologist

Can someone provide instructions/advice on how to get relaxed African-American hair into this style?

Simple. First, make sure you have this much hair to work with, lol. Next, you'll set it on REALLY big rollers. We're going for a loose body wave here, not actual curl. Wash it, set it on the rollers using a setting lotion like ISOPLUS, sit under a dryer (forever), then once its dry, take the rollers out. you'll finger comb it. Don't comb through it, it will give you a whole other look. If you don't want to take the time to set it you can use a really big (close to 2 inches) curling iron and starting at the root, wrap your hair around it.This will achieve the same look in less time. Good luck! I'm sure you'll look beautiful!!!

Can someone provide instructions/advice on how to get relaxed African-American hair into this style?

ok first you wud have to wash and blow dry your hair {blow dry with a round brush preferably} and then you use a curling iron one thats plugs in, and you start from tha bac .you take small section of tha hair and put it through tha curling iron and wrap tha hair around tha curling iron , wat you will get is "spiral curls" witout tha dryer/rods .ok when u are through wit tha back you "flat iron tha bangs" you sud have tha same style ,providing you have tha same cut as tha pic. ps you have to use a medium curling iron{ not small or big}.

How can I stop my hair from falling?

I lose about a hundred hairs per day.i don't wanna go bald what can i do i'm only 16!

How can I stop my hair from falling?

don't touch, wash, or brush your hair as much.

How can I stop my hair from falling?

the normal person loses 100-120 hairs per day it is normal. you have over 120,000,000 hairs on your head so do not worry. these hairs must fall out to allow your hair to grow.

How can I stop my hair from falling?

There is a natural supplement called BioSil (contains sillium)I don't know what supplement stores are close to you, but you can ask if they have it. I know if you go to google and type in BioSil you could purchase it online. It is good for hair, skin and nails. It tastes pretty nasty (8 drops per day) So I buy this stuff called EmergenC. It is a powdered Vitamin C/Mineral supplement you mix in water. The orange or cranberry covers the tast the best. Then just put the drops in the mixture and drink. It has helped my hair falling out. Also, if you are under a lot of stress that can definately do it. In that case get a good Stress B-Complex supplement. Also, lots of medications cause hair loss. Are you taking medication? Hope this helps.

How can I stop my hair from falling?

you lose hair everyday by the hundreds but is it is coming out in clumps I would start to worry. I take meds that make me loose hair and I talked to my doctor and he told me to take Selenium. He told me to take 100mg 2 times a day. But you can talk to you doctor what might be a better option.
