Anyone out there roller set a mans hair?

My boyfriend lost a bet with me and his forfeit is to let me roller set his longish hair which is half way down his neck at the back and jaw length at the front,

I have some of my mums old fashioned magnetic rollers which are 1" diameter will these be okay to use in his hair,

Should I do it as I lost the last bet with him and have told him no s-- for a month if he doesn't let me do it, also as part of the forfeit he has to attend a fancy dress party dressed as housewife

Anyone out there roller set a mans hair?

LMAO!!

I've permed a man's hair before, but not done a roller set! Those magnetic rollers can be a huge pain to stay in....velcro rollers are much easier!!

A bet's a bet......

Have fun!

Anyone out there roller set a mans hair?

Any roller is fine. It's not permanent, he can just wash his hair when your done, but not before you take a picture for posterity. :)

Anyone out there roller set a mans hair?

I had a male african/american client with long hair that I used rollers on. I used the 2" rollers on his hair. It actually came out really nice. I just rolled it all back and under and set him under the dryer for like 45 mins. He like it alot. Came back once a week for me to set his hair.

And because he lost the bet, hell yeah I would stick to it. Good Luck!!

Is eletrolysis work well on facial hair?

hi i m 28 and i have a lot of hair on my face. somebody uggest me to go for eletrolysis for permanent hair removing. so is there anybody suggest me is this procedure works well or not. and is there any side effect of this thing. and how long i have to take sittings for this. and is this very expensive or not.please help me. this is really serious .i am just losing my self esteem. i dont wanna meet anybody due to embassasment .help

Is eletrolysis work well on facial hair?

try laser

with electrolysis it takes allot of sessions

and you have red marks for a couple of days

the hair has a good percentage of growing back

with laser the percentage is allot lower

and you have no swelling

i say try laser

it's a little more expensive

better results

and lasts longer

no red marks

no swelling

no pain

and faster

good luck with what ever you choose

merry x-mas

Is eletrolysis work well on facial hair?

I heard that it does, but i do not know for sure. I am interesting in finding out because I have hair growing on the outside of my ears that I would like to remove. for facial hair the best shaving is the best answer. I do it everyday

Is eletrolysis work well on facial hair?

Electrolysis is the most "permanent" mehtod of hair removal, but be warned that it is not necessarily permanent where the hair is hormonally-stimulated as most facial hair growth is. Be prepared for several thousand dollars and a year or two of time to make a major impression on facial hair growth.

Yes, there are side effects, as with almost any method of hair removal, as in general terms what will destroy hair is very likely to damage adjacent skin which is very like hair in composition.

With electrolysis the major problems are scarring and discoloration of the skin.

With laser, the problems are burning of the skin, scarring and discoloration of the skin.

With chemical depilatories the problem is burning of the skin.

With plucking/waxing/edpilation/threading/sug... the problems are discoloration of the skin, irritation of the skin and stimulation of new growth in the area plucked.

The safest (and least irritant) answer is shaving -- get a good-quality men's-style electric razor. The best for women's use are probably the Norelco men's range (Philshave outside the US).

My cat lost a small patch of hair...?

i just noticed today that my cat was missing a small (little bit bigger than a quater) patch of her hair on one of her front legs on the inside above the "elbow" if you want to call it that. im pretty sure it happened only today because its pretty noticeable when she walks or when you hold her and i just noticed it awhile ago. it looks like it could possibly be some sort of rash because it the bald area its sort of red and has "pimples" or little bumps around the patch. this has never happened and i would appreciate it if anyone had any idea what this could be. shes an indoor cat and my other cat doesnt have fleas so i didnt think that would be a possibility because the other one just got groomed and they would've told me if they saw fleas on him i think. could she be stressed/scared because she doesnt recognize the other cat and she hisses and growls every time he gets near her.? i was just wondering if anyone had any idea before i go to the vet. any replys are very much appreciated!

My cat lost a small patch of hair...?

sounds like it could be a fungal infection - take her to the vet before it spreads.

even if its just an allergy, she still needs to be taken to the vet.

.

My cat lost a small patch of hair...?

It could be ringworm.

Which is a highly infectious fungus which she could have picked up from the other cat who may have picked it up at the groomers.

Ringworms can be passed to humans , so please wash you hands JUST INCASE.. if you have a camera on your mobile/cell phone take a photo and show a chemist .. they may be able to say whether or not you need an anti-fungal cream for the cat..

THEN perhaps the Vet should be the next stop/.

My cat lost a small patch of hair...?

I would check it out for ringworm at the vet, sounds like it could be that, although it seems a bit large for ringworm and really bald?

My cat lost a small patch of hair...?

pointing at the cat and laughing will help it feel better....

My cat lost a small patch of hair...?

i'm not certain at all, but perhaps she got in a fight with the other cat and the hair was ripped out? fast pulling of that much hair is going to probablylook something like a rash.

is she licking/biting (itching) it a lot? that might be another clue.

although, from the other answers-which sound a little more sure (i've never had/seen ringworm on an animal *knock on wood* so i dont know) i'd rather be safe than sorry. even at the cost of a vet-visit.

good luck and hope she feels better!

My cat lost a small patch of hair...?

I think that maybe she was just bitting her self and got a rash

from it but i am from the country and i seen that a lot with my cats so no you have notting to worry about.

My cat lost a small patch of hair...?

I agree with the other postings that your cat may have ringworm. It can be treated with a medicated shampoo you get from your vet...or with Tinactin or Lamisil cream.

What home made remedy is good for dry damaged hair?

First you should grow it out. then just start trimming ur hair every 3 months, just trim ur hair about 1-2 1/2 inches. So hair can start to grow longer. You can also use avacado or mayo for ur hair. But a good conditioner i recommend is dove.

Hair weakened and thinned by bleached - it stretched & lost all elasticity, now wavy & break

I currently have a similar question up on yahoo answers but am posting this new one as i have figured out what has happened to my hair.

This morning i rebleached sections of my waist length hair %26amp; when i rinsed the bleach off i found my hair to feel very soapy even after 3 shampoos %26amp; then noticed it was like fine jewellery elastic %26amp; is now snapping off at eye level.

The bleach has thinned %26amp; weakened my hair so that it has stretched at the front at around eye level when i was rinsing the bleach out and is now wavy (as the elasticity has gone and the hair didnt jump back to normal).

I have trimmed the really bad parts out (up to eye level) but am wondering if I may be able to salvage the length a little bit. Is there anyway to sort out this "wavy" weakened bit of hair temporarily so that i can give it tonnes of TLC over the coming month to help it strengthen again.

Heres a pic of before todays disaster -

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

I have two brain tumors and I am going through radiation. I have lost a thick band of hair from one ear, along the back of my scalp to the other ear. How long will it take to grow back? How fast will it grow? And it there any product I could use to safely speed it up?

(btw I am 16 and healthy other than this.)

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

The answer depends on the treatment:

chemotherapy, whole brain radiation, or tamoxifen.

If you had chemotherapy, here's a typical timetable:

Two to three weeks after chemotherapy ends: soft fuzz

One month after: real hair starts to grow at its normal rate

Two months after: an inch of hair

How long it takes to grow back a full head of hair (and pubic hair, lashes, and brows if you lost them too) varies from person to person.

Generally, the hair most likely to fall out is the hair that tends to grow back the fastest. The hair on the top of your head grows faster than your eyebrows or eyelashes.

Your new hair may be just like your old hair, or it may be thicker and curlier, or straighter, than your original hair. And your hair might grow back a different color. Women who dyed and processed their hair might not remember what their hair was like originally and may be surprised by the new natural color and texture. Eventually, your hair usually goes back to the way it used to be after the effect of chemotherapy on the hair follicle wears off.

If you lost your hair after whole brain radiation for brain metastases, it may take four to six months before even an inch of growth appears. Your new hair will probably be thinner than it was, and you may have a small bald spot on the top of your head. So you may want to hold on to the wig or other headgear you'd bought for special occasions.

If your hair started thinning from tamoxifen treatment, the loss usually levels off after the first year. But the thinning may last as long as you take the drug, which might be as long as five years. You can use Rogaine (chemical name: minoxidil) for tamoxifen-induced hair loss. It's safe and effective, but a messy daily chore閳ユ攣nd it's expensive.

Very, very rarely, permanent baldness occurs after many years of strong chemotherapy: Hair follicles get 閳ユ競urned out閳?and shut down, so there is no new growth. Remember, this situation is extremely rare. If you are one of the very, very few women who remain bald, you may mourn your hair for quite a while. But you can become an expert on what to do to make yourself feel attractive, and help other women deal with their new loss.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU :)

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

Darlin', there's no way to accurately predict this...go by your normal preradiation hair growth rate and reduce it by 75%, just to be safe.

Thoughts are with you :)

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

well I would say more than a year but it depends on how fast your hair grows I usually use head and shoulders but you can go online and search for the shampoo or ask a hair salonist

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

i am sorry, i do not know the answer, but i just want to say i will pray for you tonight! hope you get better soon! %26lt;3

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

Bless your heart for having to go through something so traumatic. I hope you are keeping your spirits high.

There isn't much you can do (other than prenatal vitamins) to speed hair growth. Sometimes, those don't even work for some women.

Until then, embrace the loss. When it grows back, dye it fun colors to celebrate the AMAZING achievement you have made.

Good luck to you!

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

God Bless you sweetie! I will pray for you although im not sure about any products for your hair

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

Well if you are entirely healthy, it shouldn't take too long. My Grandma when she had cancer, I think her hair had grown at least 4 inches in a few months. She died shortly after though because her cancer had not ceased, they had just discontinued radiation. Kind of depressing but meh... what can I do?

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

it depends, some ppls hair grows at different speeds but on average a persons hair grows half an inch per month. but you could go to some place like sally's and they have special shampoos that they sell to help your hair grow back faster.

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

your hair will usually grow back after your therapy is completed.

hope it helps!

:]

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

It will start regrowing as soon as you end your radiation therapy. Then it will grow about 1/2" to 3/4" per month until it's all grown back. Just eat a balanced diet and take a multi-vitamin every day. If the radiation makes you not feel like eating then buy some Ensure and drink that instead - you've got to keep your strength up.

How long will it take for my hair to grow back after radiation?

Hi,

How much radiation have you received to each part of the brain and in what part of your brain were the tumors?

Depending upon the dosage, your hair may start to grow back within a few months, but that also depends if you are following radiaton with chemo that could also prevent it from coming back so quickly.

My daughter (dx medulloblastoma 6/98) received 5580 GY to the tumor bed on a strip across the back of her head between her ears. If my memory is correct, on the rest of her head she received 2340 Gy, and that hair grew back fairly quickly in the 6 week rest period before chemo.

During chemo it fell out again. As a 16 year old young lady it is can be particularly difficult for your self-esteem. You might want to buy a couple of wigs for the treatment period.

My daughter is 21 now and her hair has grown back in enough to cover the band of misisng hair on the back of her neck.

Rogaine could be a product to use later, but you need to discuss it with your oncologist and radiologist.

If I or my child was going through radiation currently I would try taking magnesium to promote neuronal plasticity and assist reducing the nausea effects. The form it can best be absorbed by the body would be through epsom salt baths (twice weekly) (Dose 2 cups dissolved in the bath)

I would also take curcumin and peperine to assist mitigate damage to healthy tissue. See the article below about how it helps with a chemo agent.

God bless and with kind regards

Effect of Curcumin on Inflammation and Oxidative Stress in Cisplatin-Induced Experimental Nephrotoxicity.Kuhad A, Pilkhwal S, Sharma S, Tirkey N, Chopra K.

dr_chopra_k@yahoo.com.

Nephrotoxicity is a major complication and a dose limiting factor for cisplatin therapy. Recent evidence suggests that inflammation and oxidative stress may contribute to the pathogenesis of cisplatin-induced acute renal failure. Curcumin is claimed to be a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agent. The present study was performed to explore the effect of curcumin against cisplatin-induced experimental nephrotoxicity. Curcumin in the dosages of 15, 30, and 60 mg kg (-1) was administered 2 days before and 3 days after cisplatin administration. Renal injury was assessed by measuring serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, urea clearance, and serum nitrite levels. Renal oxidative stress was assessed by determining renal malondialdehyde levels, reduced glutathione levels and enzymatic activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase. Systemic inflammation was assessed by tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) levels. A single dose of cisplatin resulted in marked inflammation (486% rise in TNF-alpha level) and oxidative stress and significantly deranged renal functions as well as renal morphology. The serum TNF-alpha level was markedly reduced in curcumin-treated rats. Curcumin treatment significantly and dose-dependently restored renal function, reduced lipid peroxidation, and enhanced the levels of reduced glutathione and activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase. The present study demonstrates that curcumin has a protective effect on cisplatin-induced experimental nephrotoxicity, and this effect is attributed to its direct anti-inflammatory and strong antioxidant profile. Hence, curcumin has a strong potential to be used as a therapeutic adjuvant in cisplatin nephrotoxicity.

Hair loss on the stomach of my lab mix dog?

I have a lab mix dog we got from the shelter about 5 months ago. He is about 15 months old now. We know he has food allergies - they were diagnosed by the vet after doing some blood work when he had a really bad allergic reaction. We now have the stomach issues under control. The problem is that he is losing fur on his chest and stomach and the inside of his legs. It started out gradual. It has gotten worse pretty quickly. His skin is very easily visible on his chest now and the hair is very thin on the inside of his legs. The vet did not seem concerned but it is getting worse. Any ideas?

Hair loss on the stomach of my lab mix dog?

My dog has tons of allergies!! What food do you have him on!!

Added The problem with the food that vets recommend is that vets are not all that knowledgable about food. They are more knowlegdable in meds and care. I bet they have you feeding Iams or Eukenuba or sciene diet. Let me know the food and I can help a little my dog has tons of allergies and believe me we have been through all the foods. These are good foods and better then grocery store food but with a dog that has allergies they are not the best. You need a food with no corn, wheat or soy. These are the 3 worst things to give a dog that has allergies. Look at the lable and check

Hair loss on the stomach of my lab mix dog?

sounds like flea bite dermatitis...

Hair loss on the stomach of my lab mix dog?

Have the vet test for mange. I had a lab that got a few hairless spots from lying on the tile and hard surfaces too frequently. He was just lazy. Definitely test for mange to at least rule it out though.

Hair loss on the stomach of my lab mix dog?

Does he have some loss of hair by the tips of his ears? If so, mange. Regardless, something is bothering your baby so I would treat him in lime sulfur dip. It stinks to high heavens but it kills everything!

Hair loss on the stomach of my lab mix dog?

The vet is certainly the best person to answer this one. You have already diagnosed allergies, this could be another. Without that information I would probably have said mites or similar which also set up an allergic reaction. If the vet can't find an answer, and he has seen the dog, I think it is unreasonable to expect millions of readers, who don't know the dog to give a valued diagnosis. Stick with the vet - he will work it out in time.

Hair loss on the stomach of my lab mix dog?

Most often the cause is from poor quality pet foods, which are lacking the amino acids, vitamins and minerals or the nutritional ingredients needed to maintain good health.

find a more nutritional food for your dog(and make it dry food too) Try Iams its a good source

HOpe this helps

bye

Hair loss on the stomach of my lab mix dog?

It sounds like flea allergic dermatitis, or just allergies in general. Allergies can cause hair loss. Flea allergic dermatitis tends to show up as a strip of missing fur on the back and some aggitation on the stomach. I would more go for allergies in general. Is your dog's skin really red? Dogs have allergies that act up at certain times of the year just like we do.. except their symptoms don't usually present as sneezing and red eyes (though sometimes they do) They tend to present as skin problems. Since your dog has food allergies there is a decent chance it has allergies in general.

I recommend bathing your dog more frequently, Benadryl never hurts, you can give as much as 1mg per pound every twelve hours. (example If you dog ways 12 pounds you can give it 12mg of benadryl every twelve hours) The scent less baby wipes are awesome too! Each time your dog goes outside you can wipe it's feet, this will keep it from transferring allergens everywhere.

Do not use the sulfur-lime dip on your dog until you get it diagnosed by a vet!!! That dip is for parasites! If your dog is having a skin sensitivity of any sort this is going to make it 100 times worse!! It says specifically on the bottle that it may cause skin irritation!

The skin problem you are describing does not sound like mange. (sarcoptic or demedectic). Demedex (the non contagious kind of mange it's hereditary.) Tends to present as kind of a moth eaten pattern on the dogs head and legs. Sarcoptic (the kind that is contagious even to humans) It usually presents as hair loss with sores.

Hope this helps.
