I know that you don't lose as much hair when you are pregnant, so it may be the normal amount of hair you are loosing and you are just not used to loosing that much!

My wife has lost a lot of hair throughout her pregnancies. But don't worry, it's more like shedding than balding. And she's just as beautiful as ever!

My wife and I just had a baby too (he's just over 4 months old now). She lost quite a bit of hair (which some people said is normal after birth and hormones imbalance, etc.), BUT she also got on a different kind of birth control, recommended by her doctor, that seemed to be the issue. After she switched back to the kind she was using before pregnancy, her hair quit falling out so drastically.

I was told that during pregnancy our hormones cause the growth of extra hair and the post-partum hair loss is just the extra that we do not need anymore.

That happens to every new mother. Try to take some vitamin B5 and B6.

No, it's not normal. Lack of silicon in the diet can caused too much hair loss to the point of baldness. Nettles and Rosemary taken internally as tea and used as a rinse can keep hair from falling out. Anaesthetics can cause hair to fall out. Where there is too much hair loss, to remedy, drink a soup 3 and 4 times a week madefrom Irish potato peels. To ward off baldness flex the scalp muscles rfegularly. Inositol (vitamin B and see Vitamin 2, riboflavin) Flaxseed oil as caps internally and on hair. You can put flaxseeds in water, boil a short time, and make a hair dressing of it and leave on for a few hrs at a time. it. Get B complex. Eat brown rice. Biotin is an A, B vitamin. Lack of it can cause hair loss. It's in unpolished rice, soybeans, soyflour, cauliflower, cow peas, brewers yeast. You'd get that in health food store. Keep in refrig when not in use.

After you have a baby there are alot of hormonal changes in your body that can cause you to lose alot. If you had any type of anesthesia when you had your baby it will definitely cause your hair to fall out for a while. I been there and i lost what seemed like handfuls of hair for months. It's kind of scary but it will stop eventually. You want go bald.

I lost my hair after both pregnancies. Your hormones are changing, that's where having a baby comes into the picture. My son began losing his newborn fuzz at the same time, they doctor said it was because the same hormones were leaving his body as well. It is normal, you can't stop it, and even though you feel like you're going bald, you're not. It will slow gradually back to normal after 3 or 4 months.
